Reality-Based Training
Owning or carrying a firearm does not automatically prepare you for the stress and chaos of real-world violence. Most firearms training focuses on marksmanship and weapon handling. Force-on-Force training focuses on the human element—decision-making under stress.
Using UTM training firearms and marking cartridges, students will participate in realistic scenarios against live role players. UTM is one of the most realistic training systems available and is used worldwide by military, law enforcement, and professional instructors. The stress of facing a live, thinking opponent cannot be replicated on a range.
Students will be challenged to identify threats, make use-of-force decisions, communicate, move, seek cover, protect loved ones, and articulate their actions afterward. Scenarios may include robberies, assaults, road rage incidents, third-party encounters, and other situations commonly faced by armed citizens.
This is not a shooting competition, tactical fantasy camp, or CQB class. The goal is to expose students to the realities of violence in a controlled environment where mistakes become learning opportunities rather than life-changing consequences.

Important:
Safe firearm handling skills are required. All UTM firearms, ammunition, and protective equipment are provided. No live weapons or ammunition are permitted in the training area.

Practical Is Tactical
Defensive Pistol for the Armed Citizen
This is not your average stand-on-a-shooting-line-and-punch-holes-in-paper class.
Practical Is Tactical is a live-fire defensive pistol course designed for responsibly armed citizens who want to move beyond basic marksmanship and learn how to apply those skills in realistic contexts. Students will work through a variety of drills and exercises focused on movement, use of cover, multiple threats, multiple angles, follow-through, 360-degree awareness, and making good decisions under pressure.
The goal is simple: learn how to fight with your pistol, not just shoot it.
Students are encouraged to train with their actual concealed carry equipment. That means carrying the pistol you normally carry, using the holster you normally wear, and dressing the way you normally dress. Your training should reflect your mission as a civilian, not a competition shooter or SWAT officer.
Throughout the class, students will learn that "tactical shooting" is simply applying sound shooting fundamentals under pressure and making solid decisions! Accuracy, safe gun handling, movement, awareness, and decision-making all work together.
This is NOT a beginner-level class. Students must already possess a solid understanding of firearm safety and fundamental shooting skills.
Class size is strictly limited to 8 students to ensure maximum participation, coaching, and individualized feedback.

This package combines both our Reality-Based Force-on-Force Training and our Practical Is Tactical Live-Fire Class into one comprehensive weekend for just $700, a savings of $100 compared to registering for both classes separately.
The Force-on-Force portion places students into realistic scenarios against live role players using UTM training firearms and marking cartridges. Students will face situations that require threat identification, decision-making, communication, movement, use-of-force judgment, and post-incident articulation. This is where students experience the stress, uncertainty, and chaos that often accompany real-world violence.
The live-fire portion focuses on developing practical gunfighting skills for the armed citizen, including movement, use of cover, multiple threats, multiple angles, follow-through, 360-degree awareness, and applying shooting fundamentals in realistic contexts. Students are encouraged to train with their actual carry guns, holsters, and everyday clothing.
Together, these classes address both sides of the self-defense equation: the ability to make sound decisions under stress and the ability to effectively apply those decisions with a firearm.
Many people train to shoot. Far fewer train to think, decide, and perform when another human being is actively working against them.
If you carry a firearm for personal protection, this is the closest thing to a complete training package you'll find.
